Banking

One of the first jobs you may want to look into if you enjoy working with finances is a job as a mortgage loan officer. This will allow you to work with customers that are looking to secure money to purchase a home.

This can be a rewarding job and one that will require a good amount of expertise. You will typically need to get a Bachelor’s degree in this field, and you will need to pass both a licensing and certification exam.

The good news is that the average salary for this job in 2014 was $62,620 a year, which makes this a good way to earn a steady living.

Accounting

If you truly love working with numbers all day, you may want to strongly consider being an accountant. Of course, there are various ways to make this career a part of your life.

You may want to seek career advice to determine the ideal road for you to take when it comes to working in this arena. For instance, you could be a bookkeeper that keeps track of the day-to-day operations of a business, or you may want to take it a step further and be a certified public accountant (CPA). Some of the services that a certified CPA can offer include auditing, financial reporting and consulting with both small and large businesses.

Keep in mind that the salary of a CPA is significantly higher than that of a bookkeeper. However, you will be required to take an extensive exam that requires quite a bit of preparation to pass.

Financial Advising

If you love working with money, helping others make more money is probably one of the most gratifying jobs you can have. Financial advisors have the most direct impact to be able to help their clients with their finances.

This job involves meeting with clients and discussing how to invest money to get the largest returns. You will need to have the proper training for this job as well.

Listed below are some of the investment categories you will need to be familiar with in this position:

  1. Mutual funds – One of the ideal ways for your client to make money is with mutual funds. These can be either high risk or much lower risk depending on the desire of the client, and are a good way to diversify their portfolio.
  2. Stocks – Investing in stocks may require a more risk-oriented client, but keep in mind the larger the risk, the larger the potential payoff.
  3. Certificates of deposit – One of the less riskier ways to invest money is in a CD. This will allow you to increase interest returned to you over a specific amount of time.

The key to finding a career you enjoy can be easy if you like working with money. However, you will need to plan ahead and work towards getting the right education in order to be successful in these jobs. Be proactive, don’t wait to make your dreams come true!
