Does your workplace lack a pantry or full kitchen? You may only have a microwave to heat up food and a fridge to store your meals. If you are stuck at a workstation for most of the day, you will need something to snack on when you get hungry. Whatever you bring from home needs to be light and easy to eat. Here are some snacks that you can bring to work:

Low-fat popcorn

Even if your workplace does not have a microwave, you can still enjoy popcorn. Pack the snack in a Tupperware container that can fit inside your bag. Popcorn is not a messy dish; you can eat it at the desk and get back to work quickly. This low-calorie snack will not only satisfy your craving but is also a good source of fiber.

Low sodium beef jerky

When choosing a light snack, low-sodium beef jerky is a great choice. Not only is it a protein powerhouse, but it is also easy to sneak a bite. Because many brands of beef jerky have high sodium content, you should choose wisely.

Oatmeal

This is a very easy snack to prepare – you just need to add hot water and stir. Even though oatmeal has a lot of sugar that is not healthy, it is quite a filling dish.

Sweets

Do you have a sweet tooth? You can take sweets to work on occasion. However, you should not make a habit of this because sweets are bad for your teeth and overall health. Sweetservices.com sells some of the best snacks in the market.

So far, none of these snacks requires refrigeration to remain fresh. However, if you want to cut calories and processed foods from your diet, you can eat healthy snacks such as:

Dried or fresh fruit

Bananas, pears, and grapes are easy to carry, and they remain fresh when kept in a fridge. If you do not like messy foods, you need to slice up the fruits at home and give them a honey-water bath – this will keep them from turning brown quickly. Shelf stable fruits such as dates and raisins keep well for a long time. Moreover, they are naturally sweet.

Fresh vegetables

Celery sticks, sliced bell peppers, and baby carrots are great snacks for health-conscious people. They are packed with minerals, vitamins, and fiber – which are all good for the body. If you like dipping veggies, you can pack a container of guacamole or hummus and dip to your heart’s content. Eating plain veggies may sound off-putting, but it is good for your body. If you spend most of the day seated, you could benefit from consuming fewer calories.

Greek yoghurt

This yoghurt is all the rage as it contains tons of protein, healthy fats, active cultures, and nutrients. You cannot go wrong with this great snack choice. Just make sure that you buy the good stuff – without too much sugar. Greek yoghurt has a higher protein content than normal yoghurt, making it a healthier option.

These are just some of the snacks that you can take to the office. They do not take up much space; all you need is a shared office refrigerator to keep them fresh until you decide to eat them. Ensure that your snacks are labeled to keep others from eating them by mistake. If you are determined to go on a healthy diet, make sure that you talk some of your coworkers into it. Nothing is as discouraging as munching on baby carrots while your coworkers treat themselves to scrumptious hotdogs.
