There’s a lot of difficult jobs out there, in each and every sector of the working world. Even just sitting at a desk for most of the day, shooting off emails and swinging your legs, can take a toll on the human brain and body. After all, we’re made to move around, take rests when we need to, and enjoy what we get up to; it’s how our brains find the motivation for waking up in the morning.

But some jobs are going to be more difficult to succeed in than others – of course, every job is going to have an aspect to it that you absolutely hate, but some have more aspects than just that one. So here’s a few of the worst things about the working world, that might just make the job you’re trying to complete very hard to get on with.

The Demanding Labor

Some jobs have very demanding manual labor requirements to them. Working as a mine engineer, or in a warehouse, for example, are going to be a lot more damaging on someone’s body than the craft of working from home. There’s a clear difference in physical and mental shape and strength, and being able to lift and carry until the end of the day is something very few manage.
So if you’re someone with a demanding job, there’s a good chance you’re already suffering with back and leg ailments, and even when you’re in a retail position, needing to be on your feet for 8 hours a day can be hell. Having the right uniform and shoes to wear can make these demands easier, but it’s still an environment few will admit to liking.

The Office Culture

If you’re someone who works a desk job, there’s a good chance you’ve come across a few egos in your time. People who may rank higher than you in their position, and don’t mind letting you know about it. A lot of office jobs can have a toxic environment to walk into, that a new employee might not be comfortable with, and will need plenty of time to adapt to.

Of course, equality and diversity is being prioritised more and more within the working world, but there’s a lot of sectors where these standoffish attitudes are still prevalent. Even in the military sector, working in the pog military can bring a lot of derision to the ranks. For example, there might be people on the ground who think of a desk worker as not quite pulling their weight.

The Punishing Hours
And last but not least, there’s a lot of jobs out there that schedule punishing hours, with little to no flexibility. A shift that starts at 4 am, for example, is going to be a lot harder to prepare for than one that starts at 8 am.

Succeeding in a difficult job is going to take a lot of dedication. Let’s make sure you know what’s hard about your job, and what to prepare for.
