Hey Royce – as you know, most blogs today hope to establish a community of readers who can identify with one another. My blog covers a mix of topics in HR, Recruiting, Gen Y, and the Job Search. With those topics in focus, it appears most of my readers happen to be recruiters, HR folks, and Gen Y people like yourself, and job seekers. Think of the power of that sort of community?

Recruiters run with the HR crowd and vice versa, and both of those groups are alway slooking for talent (job seekers). My goal is to be able to build a community where people can connect in a fun way. Of course it won’t offer the benefit that Linkedin has, but I’m not trying to become Linkedin. At the end of the day, this is a blog, but if I can offer a fun way for people to express and promote themselves, then I will make sure I do that.

At the risk of sounding contrarian, what’s the benefit of the Corn Heads community (you didn’t go with Children of the Corn? really?) versus just fleshing out a LinkedIn profile, or even a Brazen Careerist community? Could you break down what exactly you’re trying to accomplish and how you differentiate from those other communities? I know you’ve got a plan, Rich haha
