Are you desperate to get a job in show business? Do the people around you tell you that it’s nothing more than a pipe-dream? Do they say that people like you simply don’t get to be on TV, and certainly not in the movies? They’re dead wrong.

Although it is admittedly difficult to break into show business, if you have the talent and you’re willing to work hard, there is no reason why you can’t make it. Here are some tips that will help you with that…

Work Out What You Really Want

The first step on the road to working in show business is knowing what you really want to do. So many people just want to be famous, and they leave it at that; you need to really nail things down. Do you want to act on the stage? Star on TV, sing? Once you know exactly what it is you want to do, you can start researching how to get there.

Network

Despite what a lot of people think, you don’t have to know the right people to get into show business – if you’re talented you have a chance – but it certainly does help, which is why you might want to start attending events where you’re likely to bump into the ‘right’ kind of people.

You might have a raw natural talent, but if it is really raw, then you won’t stand out amongst your equally talented peers when you attend auditions, which you can find at AuditionsHQ, who have taken the time to get lessons and improve what they do. If you want to succeed, you need to get serious.

Be Willing to Start at the Bottom

If for example, you want to be a TV presenter, you can’t expect to just walk into a job – it does happen, but not very often – most people you see on TV have done their time. They’ve started out as a runner or a PR and worked their way up – that’s what you may need to do.

Use Youtube

Then again, now that we have things like Youtube at our disposal, it has never been easier to get into show business without any help at all. If you can learn a few simple skills, like how to operate a camera and upload your footage, you can make your own videos and let the viewers on Youtube decide. If that doesn’t sound like such a good idea to you, and you’d rather be on TV or in Movies, perhaps signed to a big record label, remember that people like Ed Sheeran got their start on Youtube, and there are many professional Youtuber’s who earn thousands of dollars each month just by uploading a few videos. There’s no reason why you couldn’t do that too.

Never Give Up

Chances are you’ll have to attend a number of auditions before you even come close to getting a part. That’s okay, even the biggest film stars in the world went through the same thing. The important thing is that you never give up. In the meantime, you might want to find a regular day job to keep you going.

Good Luck.
