Shopping is exciting, and shopping online can be one of the best ways to spend your time if you have the money and you know exactly what you want. If you have an ecommerce website and you want people to buy your products online, you have to put yourself in the shoes of your customer to understand what it is about websites that makes people go from a visitor and a window shopper to a paying customer.

Ecommerce websites engage web customers and these days you can’t really say that online shopping is a niche market. This means that you need to make sure that your ecommerce website is standing out. From the payment integration API for WooCommerce to the methods of payment you ask for, you want people to actually stay and pay rather than click off of the payment page. There are no universal features or design options that make your ecommerce website more attractive than anything else. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t work on your ecommerce site so that your customers will click through and pay. So with that in mind here is what your ecommerce site needs.

  • It needs clear branding. You need to have your business branding clear and front and center on your ecommerce pages. This includes your payment gateways. A seamless and consistent branding message across your website is going to convince customers to trust you. The more popular your brand is, the more you’ll be able to afford to create an online store that has a fashionable home page. You need to consider investment here.
  • Deals and freebies. Often a great way to make a window shopper, a paying customer is to make sure that you offer free shipping. There are so many different deals and freebies that you can offer to ensure that your ecommerce site is one that people want to shop with. Nothing attracts a paying customer better than a deal. So whether you offer pay today type deals, or you offer discounts on purchase, you need to consider this from a customer perspective.
  • Offer good news. You don’t just use your ecommerce website to sell products and services, you use it to be an authority in your area, which means that you need to offer content that is newsworthy for your customers to read when there is news or a sales period or any upcoming events. Buyer should know about these in advance, making sure that you have content ready to go to announce to the customers that there is something big happening. This is important and it attracts more customers to your site.
  • Make the shopping cart easy to navigate. When people have added things to their basket, they often like to go back to their basket to check on things. Make sure that you are offering one that’s easy to navigate and easy to check out with so that you can feel like you are getting somewhere with your customers.
